A veteran forward from Quebec is coming to Wellington.
Twenty-year-old Liam Lucas of Pointe-Claire was acquired by the Dukes from the Rockland Nationals of the Central Canada Hockey League on Tuesday for a player development fee.
The 5’10”, 174 pound overager split the 2022-23 season between the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Estevan Bruins and the CCHL’s Ottawa Jr. Senators, notching 25 points in 43 combined games.
Dukes GM Todd Diminie described Lucas as a ‘speedy forward’ who will lead by example with his consistent work ethic and team-first approach.
“Liam has the versatility to play both centre and the wing, and contribute in all situations. He gained valuable experience this past year in his first Junior A season, winning a CCHL Championship and attending the Centennial Cup,” Diminie stated.
