Another step is being taken towards a new community hub involving affordable housing and community services at the former Queen Elizabeth School in Picton.
Prince Edward County is now accepting Expressions of Interest from community members and organizations interested in locating at a new multi-use development proposed for the Barker Street location.
The municipality, which recently purchased the 4.76 acre site plans to build affordable housing but also aims to create a “community within a community” that brings together community service providers, businesses, and professionals currently operating within the County.
The deadline to submit an EOI is Monday, August 21.
The EOI document is available on the County’s website.
A Tenant Selection Committee will review the EOIs as part of its process of making recommendations to County Council on the tenant mix for the redevelopment of the site.
The County is currently accepting applications for the Tenant Selection Committee.
