The City of Belleville’s Planning Committee has asked staff to create a report into a Zoning By-law Application regarding a section of property on 228 Dundas St. East.
The application looks to convert the parking lot at the site into residential land use.
This would separate that section of land from the planned special care residential building.
The current vacant building is set to house 67 units for seniors with disabilities.
The building would be split between two operators, Addictions and Mental Health Services-Hastings Prince Edward (AMHS-HPE) and Pathways to Independence.
AMHS-HPE would use 40 of the units for its clients, while Pathways is expected to utilize the remaining 27 units.
This past February, the committee had approved an amendment that would change the age limit restriction for the planned special care residential building.
There are no other changes planned for the special care section of the property.
A report is expected to be made and presented to the committee at a future meeting.
