While most of the hockey world’s attention was on player movement in the NHL on day one of the free agent season, many moves made by the Ottawa Senators were designed to give them depth while building the roster of the American Hockey League team playing in the CAA Arena in Belleville.
Six players agreed to one-year two-way contracts on Saturday.
Rourke Chartier ($775,000 in the NHL, $300,000 in Belleville)
Josh Currie ($775,000 in the NHL, $275,000 in Belleville)
Boko Imama ($775,000 in the NHL, $325,000 in Belleville)
Matthew Highmore ($775,000 in the NHL, $400,000 in Belleville)
Garrett Pilon ($775,000 in the NHL, $200,000 in Belleville)
Jacob Larsson ($775,000 in the NHL, $325,000 in Belleville)
Belleville also signed forward Brennan Saulnier to a one-year, one-way American Hockey League contract extension.
The Belleville Senators also announced that the team has signed defenceman Ryan MacKinnon to a one-year, one-way American Hockey League contract.
