The number of incidents involving opioid overdoses continues to steadily increase in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
According to Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, four people died of suspected drug overdose in the area in May.
There were 27 visits to emergency departments for opioid overdose, 11 calls to the Belleville Police Service and OPP, and 25 calls to paramedics related to drug use.
All of those categories were higher last month than in May of 2022.
