Belleville police responded to a disturbance call at a business in the west end on Thursday.
Police responded to the business around 5:21 a.m on a report of a female causing the disturbance.
When officers arrived, they learned that the female had previously entered the store, purchased items, then left the store without issue but then returned to the store to acquire more items but did not have the money.
The employee working at the store refused to allow the female to take the items leading to the female getting angry and damaging the store.
She is also alleged to have thrown an item at the employee. No physical injuries were seen on the employee.
The female was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance, mischief and assault with a weapon.
The woman was released just after 8 a.m. on an undertaking and the condition that she not return to the store.
Later that same day, around 3:47 p.m., police received a request to attend the same west end store on a report of a female yelling and swearing at customers in the store.
Police were able to quickly determine it was the same woman that was arrested earlier in the day.
As a result, the 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged with breaching a condition of her undertaking and was held for a bail hearing.
