Correctional Service Canada says an inmate at the Warkworth Institution has died in their custody.
CSC says Vuk Peric died on June 24.
At the time of Peric’s death, he was serving a a sentence of four years, eight months and 14 days, for offences including possession of a schedule I/II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possess forged documents, and criminal harassment, since June 15, 2021.
Next of kin for the inmate has been notified.
CSC says it will be reviewing the circumstances as they do in all cases involving the death of an inmate.
Under their policy, police and the coroner are required to be notified.
