Registration is open for a Spay and Neuter Clinic for Low Income Pet Owners.
Openings are for spaying 10 female dogs, neutering 10 male dogs and spaying 20 female cats.
Registration takes place until Wednesday, June 28 at the shelter on 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road during regular opening hours, 12 to 4:30 p.m.
Spots are being assigned on a first-come basis to qualifying owners.
Owners do not need to bring their pets but will need to bring government ID and proof of income in order to register.
The following proofs of income will be accepted:
- Proof of receipt of Ontario Disability Support Program
- Proof of receipt of Ontario Works
- Proof of receipt of Seniors’ Guaranteed Income Supplement
- Qualify as low income with Revenue Canada Notice of Assessment (low-income cutoff LICO criteria)
The rates for the clinic are as follows:
- $100 per dog spay
- $60 per dog neuter
- $40 per cat spay
- Animals undergoing spay/neuter can also be microchipped for $20 and receive a rabies vaccine $30 at the same time as their procedure. (Cones, if needed, are available for $10 cash only on the day of the procedure)
Payment must be made during registration.
The clinic will take place on July 13.
