A move is underway to support the continuation of emergency health operations at Bancroft hospital.
A recommendation came out of a meeting of the Hastings County Finance Committee on Tuesday.
It is going forward to Hastings County Council.
The resolution says that the county work with the Quinte Hospital Corporation to support the continuation of emergency health operations at the Bancroft Hospital.
This would involve the recruitment of two full-time emergency room physicians.
It recommends that the county dedicate $150,000 for each doctor, paid according to the county’s family physician recruitment program.
This would serve as a recruitment incentive.
The resolution will go to a meeting of county council later this month.
