Members of the provincial and federal government gathered in Quinte West Monday morning to announce the completion of the electric vehicle charging stations at all 400 series highway ONroutes.
Bay of Quinte MPP and Energy Minister Todd Smith was joined by Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation and Brampton MPP Hardeep Singh Grewal, Kingston and the Islands MP Mark Gerretsen, and the General Manager of Ivy Charging Network Michael Kitchen, the company in charge of the project.
They gathered at the westbound Trenton ONroute to announce that fast chargers had been installed at all ONroutes, ahead of the summer tourist season.

Smith says he announced the project in 2021 to electrify Ontario’s busiest highways. He says all OnRoute charging stations are now online.

The Ivy Network is a joint venture between Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation. They are responsible for installation, ownership, and operation of the fast chargers.
