If you thought yesterday was bad you’re in for a rude awakening this morning (Wednesday). The smoky haze in the Quinte region is thicker today.
Smoke plumes from forest fires in Quebec and northeastern Ontario are the cause of the bad air.
Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations. Continue to take actions to protect your health and reduce exposure to smoke.
Meanwhile our meteorologist Kevin Williams says these conditions could hang on for a while.
“Until one of three things changes – the fires get extinguished, the wind changes or widespread soaking rain occurs, we’re not going to see a lot of change and so today for those, particularly those with respiratory issues, to limit their outdoor exposure and certainly their strenuous outdoor activities where possible.”
