This year’s Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign in Trenton and Brighton has brought big smiles to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
A $66,618.35 cheque was presented to the Foundation on Tuesday.
Josephine Robertson, who owns multiple locations in Brighton and Trenton, says money raised will go towards to a Bone Density Machine for the hospital.
“This is a huge accomplishment for the community that everybody in the whole community I’m sure bought a cookie that day or some point and time in the week and donated toward this bone density machine.”
Several businesses also stepped up with purchases including All Season Fencing which purchased $5,000 worth of cookies.
All Season Regional Manager John Lewis says it’s an easy campaign to get behind.
“We’ve always put an emphasis at our company about building good teams and good relationships internally and externally so, with our staff and also with our customers. And we’re trying to take that same attitude into a new community that we’re moving into.”
The North York company purchased the former Sonoco paper mill north of Trenton last year.
This year’s Smile Cookie total is well above the approximately $49,000 raised in Trenton and Brighton last year.
