Belleville Police responded to a case of miscommunication on Saturday.
Police say a male informed officers that a female had “threatened him with a gun” at a restaurant on Bell Boulevard at around 5:30 p.m.
No weapon was actually seen.
When officers arrived, police say the male was intoxicated and had told a woman that he liked the perfume she was wearing.
According to the man, the woman responded that she had a gun.
Police then spoke with the woman who provided a different account of the events and said that she told the man the perfume she was wearing was “JULIETTE HAS A GUN”.
Officers confirmed the story with restaurant staff and a quick Google search.
The incident was resolved peacefully and police escorted the male back to his home safely.
