Three people have been charged after a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation.
Quinte West OPP say an officer was patrolling Glen Miller Road in Quinte West around 2 p.m on May 20 when they spotted a person in a vehicle without a fastened seatbelt.
Following further investigation, all three people who were in the vehicle were charged.
Thirty-three-year-old Chantelle Barnsley of Stirling was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of break in instruments
- Trafficking in schedule 1 substance
- Possession in schedule 1 substance
- Fail to comply with probation order
Thirty-two-year-old Scott Comeau of Trenton was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of break in instruments
- Trafficking in schedule 1 substance
- Possession in schedule 1 substance
- Fail to comply with probation order
Thirty-year-old Dyllon Nelson of Trenton was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of break in instruments
- Trafficking in schedule 1 substance
- Possession in schedule 1 substance
- Resist peace officer
- Disobeying order of court
Barnsley was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a future court date.
The other two accused were held for a bail hearing.
