Belleville City Council approved a request to have the turf on Field $2 at Mary Anne Sills Park replaced.
WorldWide Turf Inc. won a bid to have the turf replaced following a request for tender set out in April.
The total cost to the city to replace the turf is $680,000.
Completion of the new turf is expected to be in August.
