Belleville City Council has approved a request from the Downtown District BIA to have a section of Front St. closed on weekends starting on June 23.
The section of Front St. that will be closed to traffic will be between the south side of Victoria Avenue and the north side of Campbell St.
It will begin on Fridays at noon and continue until Mondays at 7 a.m.
Two events will lead to further road closures.
On June 23, the Downtown District BIA will be holding the Downtown at Dusk event which will have the south side of Victoria Avenue and the north side of Bridge Street closed as well as shut down Campbell Street at Pinnacle.
The same plan will apply for the Caribbean Festival scheduled to take place on August 19.
The weekend road closures will continue until September 10.
