A man from Roseneath will remain in jail for four more months after pleading guilty to impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death, and mischief.
On the night of June 11, 2022, Northumberland OPP, paramedics, and firefighters responded to the scene of a fatal collision involving a car and an all terrain vehicle in the area of Roseneath Landing.
The two riders on the ATV, 26-year-old Harley Bond of Cramahe Township and 27-year-old Larissa Hadley of Quinte West, were pronounced dead at the scene.
James Hartwick, 67 at the time of his arrest, was charged.
Hartwick has been in jail for the past 315 days and will serve another 133 days.
In a Cobourg courtroom Monday he was also handed a 10-year driving prohibition and tw0-year probation.
