For the first time since the pandemic, the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre is set to host their annual Invisible Ribbon Gala.
This years theme is Canada – A Toast to Military Families From Coast to Coast.
MFRC Executive Director Tamara Kleinschmidt tells Quinte News they are thrilled to get back to the gala following the pandemic.
“It gives us a chance to interact with all of the community supporters that we have. Get a chance to talk about what challenges are facing military families right now, in a constantly changing world. The challenges that families are facing are always different.”
She says there will be a focus on what she calls The Unexpected.
” … unexpected activities throughout the evening that people will get a chance to participate. It will give them a chance to talk about the actual challenges for families and acknowledging their strength and resilience.”
Canadiana will be a focus of the evening, celebrating our country, the military bases across the nation, and the Quinte region. It is taking place at the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
This year’s title sponsor is Dibbits Landscape Supply.
Joe Dibbits of Dibbits Landscape Supply says, “It is easy to forget that being in the military is not simply a career choice, but a way of life. At Dibbits, we seek to honour the sacrifices made by those in uniform. We are humbled when we also realize the passion, resilience and encouragement of those at home who stand behind their service members, who love them and can’t wait for their return. Dibbits is honoured to be the title sponsor of this year’s Invisible Ribbon Gala and excited to share in celebrating our extraordinary military families.”
