Not that there was any doubt but spring is here and along with it the 56th season of stock car racing at Brighton Speedway.
Also with it, a familiar face in Victory Lane as Trenton native Charlie Sandercock chaulked up victory number 150 in the 40 lap Late Model feature race.
Sandercock says “It’s definitely been a long journey and it feels great. I can’t thank my supporters, my sponsors and my crew enough. If it wasn’t for those guys this wouldn’t happen.”
Leslie Turcotte-Mowat captured her first Canadian Modified career victory.
“We have a lot of new sponsors this year,” she said in victory lane. “We worked really hard on this. This feels really good. This feels fantastic…We are going to be here more often.”
Justin Ramsay moved up to the top spot on the first lap to take the checkered flag in the 20 lap Thunder Stock Division.
Tyson Gregory gets the opening night victory in the 15 lap mini stoc,k race.
And Aidan Fletcher led from wire to wire in the Comp 4 fifteen lap feature.
Racing this weekend, Vanderlaan Building Products presents a full race card including the Late Models, Canadian Modifieds, Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks and Stingers. Gates open each Saturday at 5:00 pm and admission can be purchased both online and at the gate.
