The Belleville Ravens Pirates 17U Girls Volleyball Team won a silver medal at Ontario Championships hosted at the Enercare Centre in Toronto.
The Ontario Championships is the largest youth amateur volleyball tournament in the province.
This was an amazing accomplishment for a new team starting out this past September.
All season these young ladies continued to push themselves showing steady improvement at each tournament leading up to Championships.
During day 1 of the Championships, they won all three of their games in two out of three sets, which earned them a bye on the final day.
During the final day the Pirates went on to win their first two matches earning a spot in the gold medal match.
The final game was neck and neck with Pirates falling by just two points to the opposing team earning a silver medal.
While the season in Ontario is complete for this year, the Pirates will be representing the Ravens Volleyball Club and Belleville, at the 2023 East Coast Championships – “Beast of the East” in Pittsburgh, PA at the end of May.
