While menstrual products are a basic need, many women struggle to afford them.
A pilot project offering free menstrual products is underway in Prince Edward County.
Dispensers have been installed in both lobby washrooms at the Prince Edward Community Centre and the Wellington and District Community Centre.
Following a deputation from members of the public last year, council directed staff to explore the feasiblitiy of a pilot project to make the products available at community facilities.
Staff will monitor results of the pilot and report back to Council this fall on a long-term plan for free menstrual products in additional locations.
