The Collingwood Blues have defeated the Trenton Golden Hawks 2-1 in overtime to claim the OJHL championship and the Buckland Cup.
Lucas Robinson scored the only goal for the Golden Hawks.
The Golden Hawks opened scoring late in the first period, taking and holding the lead through most of the game. The Golden Hawks wouldn’t let the Blues onto the board until they grabbed a power play goal midway through the third period to tie the game.
With the score tied the two teams went to overtime, with the Blues finding the back of the net first to win both the game, and the championship series.
The Blues will go on to compete for the Centennial Cup and national championship in Manitoba, with their next game on May 11.
