The old golf adage of drive for show and putt for dough won’t apply at the annual “Endless Summer” event in Belleville in July. Not with $50,000 up for grabs.
It’s all about the longest drive.
The “Endless Summer” event will combine 48 of the longest hitters in the world including number one Kyle Berkshire.
Event organizer Jodie Jenkins says Berkshire’s participation is big.
The Maryland native has been a dominant force in long drive competitions for a number of years.
Jenkins adds Berkshire’s participation in Belleville will attract other long drivers to the event as well.
The winner of the “Endless Summer” event takes home $20,000.
The defending champion is Cody Billinghurst from Blind River Ontario with a drive of 418 yards.
The event includes a pro-am tournament.
It all takes place July 5 and 6 at Trillium Wood Golf Club in Belleville.
