A local landlord association is working to stave off the loss of more rental units in the area.
According to the Quinte Region Landlord’s Association many small “mom and pop” landlords are
leaving the business because of the action or inaction of the Landlord & Tenant Board.
The Association says far too many tenants stop paying rent knowing it will be months before the Landlord & Tenant Board even looks at their case and can’t afford to absorb the loss of income on their properties.
The landlord’s association is holding an educational seminar for small landlords outlining their rights and helping them deal with the Landlord & Tenant Board.
The seminar will be in downtown Belleville Thursday April 27.
