Quinte West City Council carried two notice of motions related to the implementation of the 2023 budget.
One notice of motion calls for city staff to consider boat trailer parking fees for non-residents of Quinte West.
This would be part of the implementation of the new parking system.
The report would be brought back to council.
The notice of motion was brought forward by Councillor David O’Neil
Also introduced as a notice of motion was to discontinue brush burning as part of the Yard Waste Disposal Program.
According to the notice of motion, concerns were raised by local residents about the impact of brush burning on the environment.
Initially, a motion approving the burning of yard waste collection was approved as part of the city’s Yard Waste Disposal Program for a cost savings of $56,000.
That notice of motion was brought forward by councillors Zack Card and Karen Sharpe.
All motions will be looked at at a future council meeting.
