There was a house fire east of Colborne last night.
According to Today’s Northumberland, Cramahe Township firefighters were called out around 6:30 to a large newer home on Trent Valley Road.
Flames were seen shooting through the roof but luckily the occupants escaped safely. Brighton Fire Department provided tanker support.
Damage was heavy, estimated to be at least one million dollars.
An investigation into a cause is underway.
