Two people integral to establishing Hospice Quinte’s Stan Klemencic Care Centre will be honoured at a new event during National Hospice Palliative Care Week.
Hospice Quinte’s Breakfast of Champions will present its first John Williams Champion of Care Award May 9 at the Grand in Belleville.
Williams, former mayor of Quinte West, passed away in 2020.
The first recipient of the award will be former Belleville Mayor Ross McDougall.
Both men were campaign co-chairs of the Heart & Home Building campaign.
Hospice Quinte Executive Director Jennifer May-Anderson calls Williams and McDougall shining examples of what it means to be a champion of local hospice care.
Hospice Quinte’s Breakfast of Champions, presented by John Barry Realty/ ReMax Quinte, is happening May 9 at The Grand, 70 Harder Drive in Belleville from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Attendees will be treated to a full-course hot breakfast, musical entertainment, and a chance to meet and mingle with some of Hospice Quinte’s most dedicated supporters.
Tickets cost $150 per person and are available online at HospiceQuinte.ca. Ticket purchasers receive a $100 charitable tax receipt, with all proceeds supporting Hospice Quinte’s “The Comfort of Home Campaign.”
There will be no additional fundraising activities at this event.
