It’s on to Game 4 of the OJHL South-East Conference final with the home team still looking for its first win.
Sam Williamson scored the game winner at 4:44 of the third period to lift Trenton past the Wellington Dukes 4-2 and into a 2-1 lead in their OJHL conference final.
The G-Hawks outshot the Dukes 35-20. Coach Jerome Dupont says they deserved the win.
Trenton improves to 6-2 on the road during the playoffs. Dupont says it doesn’t really matter where they play.
Jaden Raad, Ryan Holmes and Duncan Grube into an empty net rounded out Trenton’s offence. Ryan Smith and Julian Jacob replied for Wellington.
Dukes forward Lucas LaPalm of Stirling had advise for his team.
Dukes coach and general manager Derek Smith says it’s too early to panic.
Game 4 is in Trenton on Wednesday night at 7:30.
In the North-West Conference final the Burlington Cougars shut out the Collingwood Blues 2-0.
Burlington still holds a 2-1 lead in the series.
The winner will play the winner of the Wellington-Trenton series in the OJHL championship final for the Frank L. Buckland Cup.
