Prince Edward County OPP have laid charges against a driver and a passenger at a RIDE program.
Police say on Tuesday around 1:30 a.m, officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 near Rossmore.
A vehicle had entered the program and officers noticed open liquor in the vehicle.
A subsequent search ensued.
It’s alleged that one of the occupants of the vehicle provided false information to officers. Officers later learned that the occupant had an outstanding warrant.
Police seized an imitation firearm, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a quantity of suspected cocaine.
Thirty-two-year-old Alisha Maille of Belleville and 31-year-old Stephanie Maracle of Belleville were arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Having liquor in open container in unauthorized place
Maille was additionally charged with obstruct a peace officer and three counts of fail to comply with probation order.
Both were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Tuesday.
