Quinte Conservation has updated their previous flood warning for the Moira River and Napanee River watersheds.
Water levels are now expected to peak on Sunday, with levels comparable to previous flooding observed in 2017.
Residents in low lying areas are advised to deploy sandbags to prevent property damage from the water. Residents are also advised to ensure sump pumps are working and unobstructed, as well as securing loose outdoor furniture and objects that might get carried away by water flow.
Flooding is predicted to continue into next week, as warm temperatures continue melting snow and keeping water levels high.
Quinte Conservation also warns that any remaining ice surfaces should not be treated as safe, due to warm temperatures and melting causing the remaining ice to weaken.
