The Provincial Junior C Hockey League’s East-Tod Division final got underway in Picton Thursday night with extra time required.
Cole Kimble scored the winner at 5:27 of overtime to give the visiting Port Hope Panthers a 2-1 win over the Pirates and a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Josh Sainthill also scored for Port Hope. Zach Brooks replied for Picton.
Game 2 is in Port Hope Saturday night at 7:30.
