Quinte Conservation has issued a flood warning for the Moira and Napanee River watersheds.
They say Wednesday’s rainfall as well as significant snow melt has caused a sharp rise in water levels.
“Over the weekend, rivers and lakes in the upper portion of the watershed will continue to rise quickly and overtop their banks.” Quinte Conservation says in a release.
“The Moira River downstream of Stoco Lake to Foxboro will continue to rise and will reach bankfull early next week.”
Residents in low lying areas are asked to take the necessary precautions to protect their property.
The warning will be in effect until April 13.
