| The full burn ban in Prince Edward County has been lifted after the high wind conditions have subsided.
County fire regulations stipulate that you must have a current permit and activate it every day that you are having a fire. A burn permit is required for all open air burning. Burn permits cost $25 and expire at the end of the calendar year (December 31, 2023). An online system is available for purchasing and activating new burn permits.
