One of our Quinte region Provincial Jr. A teams has won its semifinal playoff series while the other must play at least one more game.
Thursday night in Minden, the Wellington Dukes hung on to defeat the Haliburton County Huskies 3 to 2, completing a 4 game sweep of the best of 7.

Dukes goalie Jacob Osborne was outstanding, facing 48 shots.
Scoring for Wellington were Barrett Joynt, Luke Strickland, and Lucas LaPalm who had the game winner.
The Dukes now wait for the winner of the Trenton-Toronto series.

Speaking of which. the Jr. Canadiens have now won two games straight against the Golden Hawks, beating them 4 to 3 Thursday night in overtime.

Jack Natyshak got 2 goals for Trenton, including one with less than a minute to go in the third period to force overtime. Also scoring for the G Hawks was Ryan Holmes.

Shots were basically even with 44 for Toronto and 43 for Trenton.
Trenton still leads the series 3 games to 2.
Game 6 goes Friday night in Trenton starting at 7:30 p.m.

In Junior C playoff action, the Picton Pirates have taken a 3 games to 2 lead in their series with Amherstview, winning 4 to 3 in overtime Thursday night in Amherstview.

Game 6 is Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Picton.
Port Hope eliminated the Napanee Raiders with a 6 to 5 win, taking the series 4 games to 2.
