A recent retiree has won the Belleville General Hospital Foundation Travel Giveaway Lottery.
The winner of the $5,000 Travel Giveaway voucher through Blowes Stewart Travel Group is Dianne Zevenbergen of Quinte West.
The draw was made Friday at Carl Cox RV and Sales.
Zevenbergen purchased her winning ticket at the Quinte Sportsman Boat and RV Show earlier this month.
The show had a record breaking turnout; estimates of 15,000 people visited over three days to see 250 vendors of all things related to outdoor recreation, lifestyle and food.
The prize was donated by the Cox family, the show organizers, to raise funds for urgently needed medical equipment in BGH.
A total of 1170 tickets were sold online, at BGHF offices and through Carl Cox RV & Sales, as well as through volunteers in the community, raising nearly $12,000 for BGHF.
Zevenbergen said she is already starting to plan ‘maybe our next trip to Cuba or we’ve always thought of taking a cruise.’
