Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate Thursday morning’s fatal collision on Highway 401 near Deseronto.
Two transport trucks and a passenger vehicle were involved in the collision just before 6:30 a.m. between exit 566 County Rd 49 and exit 556 Shannonville Rd/County Rd 7.
One person was confirmed dead at the scene and one other person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The OPP Technical Investigators and Collision Reconstructionist are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Lennox and Addington OPP are also asking for anyone who has relevant information, dash cam footage or who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
The highway remained closed in both directions most of the day though one westbound lane opened around mid-day.
One westbound lane of Highway 401 is open while all eastbound lanes remained closed between County Road 49 and County Road 7 as of 5:30 Thursday afternoon.
The reopening time for the eastbound lanes is unknown.
