(Roby Jarventie celebrates his 14th goal of the season)
The Belleville Senators left Cleveland with a split which keeps their tenuous hold on the final AHL North Division playoff spot intact.
The B-Sens followed up Saturday’s 4-1 win with a 5-2 loss on Sunday leaving them in fifth place, one point ahead of Laval who have a game in hand and one point behind fourth place Rochester who have three in hand.
Cole Reinhardt (10) and Robie Jarventie (14) had a goal and assist for Belleville. Jarventie extended his point streak to six games with goals in five of the six.
Interim Head Coach David Bell: “At the end of the day, that’s the end of 18 games and 33 nights with some crazy travel and fluctuating rosters. You’re not going to win them all. I got no complaints. The guys played right to the buzzer.”
The B-Sens are home for two games this weekend.
They host the Bridgeport Islanders (New York Islanders) on Friday night and the Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville Predators) on Saturday.
