The Belleville Senators claimed victory in Cleveland on Saturday, defeating the Monsters 4-1.
Roby Jarventie, Maxence Guenette, Mitchell Heard, and Matthew Wedma.
The Senators took the first point of the game with just 20 seconds left on the clock in the first period, and built on that lead with another unanswered goal in the second period. The Senators continued to build on their lead as they scored two more times in the third period before the Monsters managed to find the back of the net with less than a minute left of play and avoid a complete shutout.
Belleville Senators interim head coach David Bell approved of how well his team was working together.
“We stick together. Five tight anywhere on the ice and in those scrums. That’s the way you have to play, with team toughness and team togetherness,” said Bell.
The Belleville Senators face down the Monsters again on Sunday afternoon. The puck drops at 3 p.m.
