The City of Quinte West Planning Advisory Committee has approved zoning by-law amendments for a property in the north end of Trenton on the west side of the Trent River that will allow a planned housing development to move forward.
The plan for 20 stacked townhouses on a pie-shaped piece of property flanked by Front Street, Water Street, and Nicholas Street already received approval through an Official Plan amendment.
The zoning by-law amendments will allow for setback changes, reduced lot frontage and lot area per dwelling unit as well as a reduction in parking spaces that are necessary because of the triangular shape of the property.
The developer plans to build two three-storey buildings, one with eight units and the other with 12.
Lower Trent Conservation sold the property, located on the west side of the Trent River, several years ago.
