The Deep River Police Service is crediting dispatchers from the Belleville Police Service with playing a critical role in a homicide investigation
in that community.
For years police in Deep River have contracted with Belleville for dispatch services.
A Deep River Sergeant tells Belleville’s Police Services Board that without the dispatcher’s professional communication skills his officers would not have had enough information to safeguard multiple crime scenes and make an arrest.
The murder occurred in December of last year.
Receiving commendations were dispatchers Ashliee Brown, Kris Gauthier, Lindsay Rhodes, Darrin Thompson, Kelly Thompson, and Claude Vaillancourt.
Kris Gauthier was unable to attend the March 16/23 Police Services Board meeting in-person to receive an award.
