(Matt Cato’s hat trick helped the Golden Hawks rally in Game 2 of their OJHL series with Cobourg)
It was a night of extremes for the Trenton Golden Hawks but in the end it all worked out.
Trenton trailed 4-0 before Game 2 of their OJHL series in Cobourg was 11 minutes old. However the G-Hawks would then score seven straight including four unanswered goals in the second period to beat the Cougars 7-5 and take a 2-0 lead in the best of seven.
A short-handed goal by Sam Williamson touched off the second period flurry aided by a pair from Jeriah Shantz which tied the game at four.
Matthew Cato followed up with a hat trick. Adam O’Mara added four assists.
Trenton outshot the Cougars 41-21.
Game 3 is in Trenton Wednesday night at 7:30.
Meanwhile the Wellington Dukes might be thinking “sweep” as they meet the St. Michael’s Buzzers in Game 4 in their best of seven series Tuesday night.
