Changes are coming to the annual Quinte Trash Bash event.
At its meeting Monday, Belleville council approved another location other than the former fairgrounds
property for people to drop off the garbage they’d collected.
Another trash depot will be located on the Riverfront Parking Lot along the Moira River on the north end of Front Street.
It’s hoped that the downtown drop off depot will attract attention to the city’s downtown and increase public participation.
Meanwhile the date for the trash bash will be a month earlier than usual, on Saturday April 22. Councillor Chris Malette said the usual mid-May trash bash date seemed a little late as many people had already been out cleaning up their neighbourhoods.
