It’s that time of year when Ontario public sector employers release their so-called Sunshine Lists, lists of employees earning $100,000 a year or more.
Many people think the Sunshine List has been irrelevant for some time having begun 26 years ago in 1996 when $100,000 was worth a lot more in buying power than it is today.
One website, INFLATIONTOOL, calculates that it would take $174,111 today to buy what $100,000 did in 1996.
