(#23 Cole Reinhardt celebrates his ninth goal of the season which gave Belleville a 4-0 lead in Laval)
It was a good news bad news night for the Belleville Senators.
The good news. They blasted the Laval Rocket 5-1.
The bad news, they don’t play Laval again this season.
Lassi Thomson scored two of Belleville’s four power play goals in a 5-1 rout in Laval.
The B-Sens won 9 of 12 against the Rocket this season including five in the Montreal suburb.
And that has put Belleville within one point of Laval and the last playoff spot in the AHL North Division with 15 games remaining, nine of which are on the road.
Ridley Grieg scored a goal and two assists. Roby Jarventie and Cole Reinhardt scored the others.
Assistant Coach Ben Sexton says, “There were some good individual efforts, but what we were most impressed with was how we stuck together as a team. As a whole, we stuck together, we stuck up for each other and we played the right way.”
The B-Sens move on to Utica to play the Comets Friday night.
