The Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs open tonight (Wed) when the Wellington Dukes host the St. Michael’s Buzzers in game ine of a best of seven series.
Wellington finished in second place in the South-East Conference, 27 points ahead of the seventh place Buzzers.
However, the season series between the two was close.
Wellington was 2-1-1 with all four games decided by two goals or less. Game time is 7:30 at Lehigh Arena.
The Trenton Golden Hawks open their series with Cobourg on Friday at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
The Provincial Junior C Hockey League post season also starts tonight (Wed) with the Frankford Huskies at the Port Hope Panthers at 8:30. This is also a best of seven preliminary series with the first two games in Port Hope.
Campbellford and Picton open Thursday night at the Prince Edward County Community Centre.
