The Community Development Council of Quinte (CDC Quinte) is now taking registrations for the 2023 Community Garden Program. They currently have 144 raised beds available in seven different locations in Belleville and they have one location in Frankford as well. Registration is free, on a first come basis and open to anyone who would like to have the opportunity to grow their own produce.
Participation in the Community Garden Program helps to increase access to affordable, fresh vegetables, offers a sense of community, is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air, and offers a connection to the environment.
The CDC Quinte Community Garden Coordinator, Jim Mallabar, says, “CDC is excited to be partnering with United Way Hastings & Prince Edward by offering an additional 15 garden beds to the community this year. Last year the Community Garden Program impacted more than 1,400 people.”

Registration is available on the CDC Quinte website: www.cdcquinte.com. Registration can also be done in person at 65 Station Street Wednesdays, Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entrance is at the back.
