Members of the Prince Edward County OPP charged a driver with impaired after a traffic stop.
On Tuesday February 28, 2023 shortly after 4:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Lake Street in Picton and spoke with a driver. A standard field sobriety test was administered and as a result, the driver was transported to detachment for further testing. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving. Dustin Kinmond, age 30 from Trenton, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – three counts
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Smoke tobacco in motor vehicle while another person less than 16 years old present – two counts
The driver was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday March 1, 2023.
