A public information meeting was held Tuesday night.
The $4.6 million budget will be up for final approval at council’s meeting on March 8.
As it stands now, the proposed overall tax levy increase is about $305,000 or an approximately seven per cent increase compared to 2022.
It means a property assessed at $300,000 would see a $123 tax increase for 2023.
Mayor Don Degenova tells Quinte News that is in line with many other municipalities and that they too are dealing with inflationary pressures.
He notes insurance costs alone have increased almost $78,000 while gas, fuel and diesel costs are increasing almost $134,000.
