Centre Hastings OPP have laid drug charges after conducting a wellbeing check on the occupants inside a running vehicle in Stirling-Rawdon.
Police were called to conduct the check around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.
After an investigation, a driver and passenger were identified, arrested and charged.
The driver, 18-year-old Logan Friel from Campbellford, was charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – two counts (suspected fentanyl & cocaine)
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to comply with Release Order – three counts
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
A 17-year-old passenger from Ajax was charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – two counts (suspected fentanyl & cocaine)
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose – two counts
- Fail to comply with Release Order
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Monday.
