A grim anniversary will be marked this Friday night in Belleville.
On February 24 of last year Russian troops and equipment crossed into Ukraine starting a bloody war
that’s killed tens of thousands of people on both sides.
A candlelight vigil will be held in Belleville’s Market Square Friday night in support of Ukaine as the war enters its second year.
Organizer Myroslava Symonenko says the vigil will honour the brave people of Ukraine, commemorate the fallen heroes, and recognize the refugees who’ve been forced from their homes.
People are being asked to bring their own candles and the vigil starts at 7 o’clock Friday night.
